    • Also mention any shared apps we're using -- like Tigerboard for presentations?

  • Get presenter's permission to record/broadcast
  • Presenter Mic
  • Audience-question mic
  • AGVCR on a non-audio machine
    • Make sure we have ~5GB or more free space on that machine
  • DV tape of presenter, presentation
  • Composite of presenter and presentation (DV + HDV)
  • Take digital photos documenting the presenter, audience, etc.

  • Get presenter's permission to record/broadcast

Option #1 Run on presenter's laptop

  • Need to install VNC or TigerBoard or AG w/ Shared Presentation
  • Take VGA out; split to projector and to encoding machine (separate box; capture card; encode with VLC or vic or ?)

Option #2 Run on ICELab machine

  • not on AG node; takes away cursor control from node operator
  • Get the presenter's Powerpoint ahead of time
  • Secondary AG node: make sure it's connected to correct projector
  • Run AG/VNC/TigerBoard
  • How to change slides?
    • Dell remote control w/ usb key in KVMs???
    • Manual change by operator on cue from presenter

  • Do we have WORKING ethernet on-site? power?
  • Positioning the mobile node: an we zoom in on the presenter? lighting ok?
    • Plug a DV camera into a Mac to use it with VIC instead of ExtendedVideoService.

Check multicast in room Count available data ports Check when room is available for testing and setup and whether equipment can stay there


Cams: composite out for H.261, H.264; firewire out for DV; firewire or USB for HDV Cam 1 Presenter: where presenter will mostly face Cam 2 Presentation: perpendicular view of display

  • Preferred: Laptop vga out converted to HDV or HD and broadcast via VLC or vic or UltraGrid

Cam 3 Audience: long shot

(check HDV encoding latency)

Mic 1 Wireless for presenter Mic2 Wireless for audience (nerf ball) Extra Batteries for wireless mics

Echo canceller

AG node computer Analog inputs for H.261, H.264 Firewire for DV input for AGDV stream

Backup AG node (laptop/cam/mic/ethernet cable)

Speakers: need portable units connected to echo cancellation

Make sure other AG nodes on campus are ready to receive broadcast
